FAQs: Answers to Common Questions about AttentionWizard
1 - What is an attention heatmap?
| An attention heatmap is a combination of two elements: eye-gazing, and predicted attention. Eye-gazing simulates the sequence of extremely rapid and involuntary eye movements (“saccades”) that happen as your eye scans a scene. This is overlaid on a heatmap of the attention represented by different colors which predicts where the brain will focus. Hotter areas indicate a more intense focus, while cooler areas show a lower level of awareness and importance. View sample heatmaps. |
2 - What is the eye gaze path?
| The eye gazing path is represented by the numbered path shown on the AttentionWizard heatmap. The eye gazing path starts with the number 1 and follows in chronological order. The eye gazing path depicts the path that your users eyes will take when they first get to your page. Depending on the image submitted (full page or above-the-fold) the eye gazing path can differ significantly. |
3 - What is a hotspot?
| The hot spots that can be found on your generated heatmap show areas of attention concentration. The greater the intensity of the hot spot, the more likely a user is to focus on that area of your page. Typically you would want these spots to be your call to action, logo, or any other areas of interest that you want your user to focus on. Depending on the image submitted (full page or above-the-fold) the hot spots can differ significantly. |
4 - How is AttentionWizard different from eye tracking and mouse tracking?
Eye tracking and mouse tracking are much more time consuming, expensive, and take a long time to get results. Eye tracking studies require human subjects to be recruited and to be shown the landing page in a controlled environment involving specialized hardware. Mouse tracking studies require adding special code to the landing page and waiting for many visitors to interact with it in order to produce aggregated “heatmaps” from multiple people. Attention Wizard uses computer simulation and models to replace the need for human subjects interacting with your page. The results are available instantly and can be run on any uploaded image (a “live” page screenshot or a design mock-up of a new page). |
5 - Why can't I login with the username and password I created?
The AttentionWizard system takes a few moments to update. Any new account or password change will first be processed before they will be active. Some people experiencing problems have found that waiting on the system before communicating AttentionWizard Support has been beneficial.

Also, if you are using Internet Explorer, it is possible that some of your browser setting may be blocking some of the on-page scripts from running. Please try logging in with a different browser such as FireFox or Chrome. These browsers enable the scripts to run the advanced programming code for the best user experience. |
6 - How does the 1 cent trial work?
| The 1 cent trial is a 30 day trial for you to become familiar with the AttentionWizard program. During these 30 days you can create and store up to 10 heatmaps created from images you upload. After the first 30 days, your account will automatically renew at the Bronze subscription level unless you cancel your subscription before the renewal date. |
7 - Can I change my subscription level?
Yes, you can always upgrade or downgrade your subscription level or cancel it at any time. Changing your subscription level will impact how many new heatmaps are available to you. Any remaining unused heatmaps will automatically be added to you new subscription level.
For instance, if you have 3 remaining heatmaps at a Bronze level and you upgrade to a Silver level, the new remaining number of heatmaps available are 53. If you have a Silver subscription level with 12 remaining heatmaps and you downgrade to bronze, you would now have 22 remaining subscription heatmaps but they must be used within the next month or they will expire.
If you still have some remaining heatmaps available and you cancel your subscription entirely, the remaining heatmaps will convert to non-expiring heatmaps that remain until you use them. Without a subscription, you may buy additional heatmaps at the Pay Per Use rate.
You can always re-start your subscription again at any level by logging in to your account and going to Account Settings. |
8 - Is my credit card information safe?
| Yes it is, we do not store your credit card information. Your credit card information is processed by the secured Credit Card Merchant processing company. We then receive a message that the purchase was approved. Then your AttentionWizard account is automatically updated for your new subscription level. |
9 - How will I be billed?
| Your credit card will be automatically charged whenever you change your subscription level, purchase any non-expiring heatmaps, and on the monthly subscription renewal date indicated on your Account Settings page. The vendor name on your credit card statement will read “EpicSky, Inc.” |
10 - Do I have to have a subscription to use the AttentionWizard program?
| No, you do need a subscription. But do you need to create an account using the 1 cent trial period and receive the 10 heatmaps that are part of the trial process. Then, if you want, simply cancel your trial subscription before the renewal date. At any time, you can purchase the Prepaid non-expiring heatmaps product. They do not require a subscription and are non-expiring as well. You will use your same account information to manage subscription and prepaid non-expiring heatmaps. |
11 - What happened to the Lite version?
| We have removed the Lite version due to numerous requests from users for these new subscription options. The Lite version was for new users to use and understand how to use the AttentionWizard heatmaps, but did not include all the functionality of the new heatmap product. The new 30-day trial period provides new users a risk-free option for getting to know Attention Wizard, making the Lite version obsolete. |

The 1 cent fee helps us eliminate spammers and automated programs such as spambots. It also helps to eliminate hackers, and ensures that your access to making heatmaps continues uninterrupted. |
